Our process

 

In this guide, we cover federal, state, and local races across the Bay Area. Our recommendations are based on candidate questionnaires, public records, community input, and interviews conducted by volunteers from diverse professional and community backgrounds.

Our goal is to highlight candidates who reflect common ground values — pragmatic, community-focused, and moderate in their approach. We aim to provide a balanced, nonpartisan resource for voters across the Bay Area.
In some races, we make a recommendation. In others, no recommendation is made.

Local races — including school boards, city councils, and county offices — can have a significant impact on public safety, education, and community life. We encourage voters to pay close attention to these races and participate in every level of the ballot.
